AEMC Instruments always compiles the safety standard. One just needs to follow the safety regulations mentioned in equipment which indeed ensure the safety of person and proper function of the instrument.
AEMC Megohmmeter 6527
is an easy-to-use megohmmeter
that has a bright
dual display with blue backlight. It can be used for all insulation tests like DC
generators, cables, switch gears, motors, power tools and more. The equipment
is quite convenient and can measure insulation resistance from 1kΩ to 4000MΩ.
It includes a “TEST button” that has a locking feature that can do continuous
tests up to 15 minutes. With the help of the locking feature one doesn’t need
to manually hold down the button. The insulation test voltage selections are of
250V, 500V and 1000V. The test leads resistance compensation are there that can
provide accurate low resistance measurements. Moreover, the auto hold function
installed in the instrument enables to "freeze" readings.
The AEMC Megohmmeter 6527 automatically turns off after 10 mins in case
you are not using. To warn, at 9 minutes, five beeps would mean it is about to be
turned off. In case you need to turn the megohmmeter back on turn the rotating
switch to OFF, then to the required function. There is an auto-off function
wherein one can push the HOLD button when turning the rotary switch on. Once
you select the required function, all segments of the display will light for a
few seconds. The screen related to the selected function will then appear. To
turn the megohmmeter off you have to turn it off manually.
We must keep in mind few things for successful Insulation resistance
testing:
1) Not to rely on insulation resistance testing alone as proof of
winding conditions.
2) Do not expect the same value for all parts of all machines.
