High maintenance and regular moistening is not required, it doesn't need heavy maintenance, but it's best to carry this out at least once or twice per year. The hygrometer is placed outdoors overnight or covered with a warm moist towel for approximately one hour.
Installation
If you place Hygrometers outdoors, it's best to install them at a point that is protected as far as possible from weather conditions which means protecting against direct sunlight and rainfall so that the measurement is correct. It should not be fixed on an exterior wall if used in a room since this is generally cooler than the room itself. Avoid placing the instrument near heating elements and other radiation sources.
